ELIGIBILTY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION

1- Pakistani Student

  • Any person seeking admission in MCM shall be eligible having fulfilled the following mandatory criteria;
  • Have passed, the MDCAT examination, conducted by the National Medical Authority, as determined by PM&DC.
  • Obtained a Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) qualification or an equivalent 12th grade qualification as determined by PM&DC.
  • Passed the subjects of biology and chemistry and either physics or mathematics in theexamination of the Higher Secondary School Certificate or an equivalent 12th grade qualification recognized in Pakistan.
  • The candidates who have passed the Medical & Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) 2023/2024/2025 with minimum 55% marks for MBBS.

ELIGIBILTY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION

2- Foreign / Overseas Quota Seats:

  • Mandatory requirement of MDCAT shall not be applied to foreign, overseas Pakistani.Foreign students, overseas/ dual nationality holder shall qualify SAT-II with minimum 550 score in each subject OR foreign MCAT OR UCAT exam with 50% marks in the subjects prescribed under (c) above.
  • Candidates holding permanent foreign nationality or dual nationality or overseas Pakistan who studies and passed HSCC 12 grade examination or equivalent from outside Pakistan and stayed in the foreign country for whole duration of the above-mentioned course on a permanent residence permit shall be eligible.

 

NOTE:

  • IBCC Equivalent Certificate must be presented by both Pakistani and Foreign candidates in case of any qualifications passed from a foreign examination body.

     

Eligible candidates are required to meet the following criteria for admission into the MBBS program:

  •  Merit formula (as per PM&DC) is as under:
    • MDCAT (50% weightage)
    • F.Sc (Pre-Medical)/HSSE/Equivalent (40% weightage) of total marks and
    •  SSC/Matriculation/Equivalent (10% weightage) of total marks.
  • Only the candidates, who make it to the merit list will be considered for admission.
  • Successful candidates are required to deposit the admission fee within 72 hours, otherwise, the candidate will forfeit his/her chance of admission. Refund policy shall be according to PM&DC Rules.
  • As per PM&DC approvals, the fee structure for the entire five years will be uploaded on the website.
  • Student Fee shall be payable from 2nd year MBBS onward shall be payable on monthly advance basis (after starting of classes) before the first professional result is declared. After the declaration of the result, the balance of fee may be paid as described in para 6 below. Failure to pay the fee on or before due date shall attract penalty as reflected in Regulation 6 and Regulation 7 of The Khyber Medical University Students Conduct and Discipline Regulations, 2017.
  • The Pakistani student has the right to pay thetuition fee on a quarterly, six-monthly or annual basis to the college. A student paying the college on a six-monthlybasis in advance shall be granted a two percent discount in the tuition fee and a student paying the college on an annual basis in advance shall be granted a four percent discount in the tuition fee provided the fee is paid within the stipulated period failing which penalty shall apply as reflected in Regulation 6 and Regulation 7 of The Khyber Medical University Students Conduct and Discipline Regulations, 2017.
  • A detained student shall be charged tuition fee in proportion to the number of failed subjects of that professional examination.
  • Fee concession will be as per PM&DC regulations.
  • Limited number of merit scholarships is available.

PROCEDURE :

  • Residence in Hostels is a privilege and not a right. Since accommodation in hostels is limited, the MCM Authorities may therefore not be able to provide accommodation to all applicants.
  • All students seeking admission in the hostel shall submit an affidavit/undertaking to abide by these regulations.
  • Students who have joined MCM for the first time shall apply for a seat in the hostels on prescribed form obtainable from Student Affairs Section on payment.
  • The Warden will allot seats in hostel to students of the MCM subject to approval of Principal MCM, provided accommodation is available.
  • The existing students of the MCM seeking fresh admission/readmission to a hostel, shall apply to the concerned Assistant provost, who shall recommend their applications to the Chief Provost if she considers it desirable and subject to the availability of seats.
  • The Warden has the right to refuse admission to a student whose past record in the hostel is not satisfactory.
  • Students are required to deposit hostel dues in advance at the beginning of each session failing which their room’s allotment shall be cancelled.
  • Failed students are also required to deposit hostel dues in advance.
  • After admission to a hostel, the resident student shall come under the disciplinary control of the hostel management. 
  • A student who fails to turn up within seven days of the allotment of a hostel seat or a student who after occupying the hostel seat deliberately leaves it without the knowledge of the wardens/assistant provosts shall forfeit her seat.
  • Hostel room once allotted can only be changed with the permission of the Assistant Provosts.
    Residents may be permitted to leave the hostels after obtaining clearance certificate from the
  • respective wardens/assistant provosts counter signed by the Chief Provost.

HEALTH SCREENING:

All those admitted to MBBS program will be screened for the following before their class numbers are issued:

  • Full Blood Count to check for anemia and other hematological disorders
  • Chest X-Ray to check for Tuberculosis
  • Hepatitis B, C,Covid-19 and HIV screening/Vaccination
  • Blood and Urine Sugar to check for Diabetes
  • Nutritional status assessed by the Department of Nutrition.
