Rationale for Establishment of Research Cell
Research holds immense importance as a scientific foundation for clinical practice and for improving patient outcomes.
The research policy of Muhammad College of Medicine (MCM) aligns with the institution’s Vision and Mission, ensuring that all research activities meet both ethical standards and organizational requirements.
The central function of MCM regarding research is the dissemination of knowledge and scholarly inquiry through faculty, scholars, and students, while maintaining a balance of freedom and responsibility.
At MCM, individual scholars are encouraged to freely select their broad or specific research disciplines, including interdisciplinary perspectives. They may seek collaboration or support from other institutions as needed. Scholars are also free to form their own opinions, theories, explanations, and conclusions in their research findings.
A significant emphasis is placed on ensuring that all research publications arising from MCM’s Research Cell—whether articles, research papers, book chapters, or online/offline reports—carry proper affiliation with Muhammad College of Medicine.
MCM’s research policy strictly prohibits any methodology or technique that violates professional ethics, including compromising the health, safety, privacy, or personal rights of human subjects or causing harm to animals.
Muhammad College of Medicine provides a supportive environment for research across all fields of knowledge. However, due to resource limitations, the college may not be able to support all research requests. Laboratory, library, and other resources, including institutional funds, are allocated in alignment with external funding agencies based on the merit of research proposals.
The college does not permit speculation or public discussion (including social media) regarding political, moral, or inappropriate uses of research findings. Such matters, if necessary, will be addressed by the Medical Research Committee.
Finally, MCM research platforms shall not be used to oppose national policies or internationally recognized laws and provisions.
